Hy-Vee is pleased to partner with Pinky Swear Foundation to sponsor this kid-friendly fitness event. We are excited to help with the foundation’s efforts to raise funds and awareness for the families of children who are suffering from cancer.
In summer 2018, Hy-Vee will continue a 15-year legacy in the Twin Cities. The Hy-Vee Pinky Swear Kids Triathlon will take place this year on Aug. 4 at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis.

The Story Behind Pinky Swear
What began as a promise between a father and son has turned into a nationwide series of triathlons and family fitness events that fundraise for children fighting cancer.
Before 9-year-old Mitch Chepokas died of cancer, his dad, Steve, made a pinky swear promise with him to continue to help children with the disease. Today, Pinky Swear provides immediate needs support and unique family programs to families with children who have cancer. To accomplish this, the foundation holds youth triathlons in a dozen states across the country and encourages kids to fundraise and build support for other children in need.

Partnering for Success
Pinky Swear embodies two core focuses that are also central to Hy-Vee — health and wellness and community support. We are proud to partner with the foundation and our customers to raise money for families in need while engaging families in events that promote a healthy lifestyle.
This is the third year that Hy-Vee and Pinky Swear have partnered to offer fundraising fitness events. In the last two years, more than 4,200 kids ages 6–18 participated in the Hy-Vee Pinky Swear Kids Triathlons, raising more than $630,000 to support children with cancer and their families.
